Introduced in 1971 and designed with input from Les Paul himself, the Les Paul Recording was a forward-thinking model built for studio musicians seeking maximum tonal versatility and clarity. Unlike traditional Les Paul models, the Recording featured low-impedance humbuckers, allowing players to run long cable lengths without signal loss and to plug directly into mixing consoles. Its extensive control layout included separate Treble, Bass, Decade, Phase, and Tone switches, offering an unprecedented level of tonal shaping.
This 1976 Gibson Les Paul Recording is in New Old Stock (NOS) condition, with an all-original Alpine White finish that has uniformly yellowed over the decades. The guitar shows slight discoloration around the base of the neck from hanging on a wall hanger, as well as slight lacquer cracking around the heel, which is purely cosmetic. The chrome hardware remains exceptionally clean, and the original pickguard plastic is still attached. It retains its original low-impedance humbuckers, Gibson-branded Schaller tuners, and Tune-O-Matic Harmonica bridge, delivering the unique clarity and extended frequency response that made this model a studio favorite.
Ships in a Gibson Deluxe Protector case and includes a Certificate of Authenticity, Letter of Appraisal, and new Limited Lifetime Warranty.
