Ballade and Serenade, Op.3

Bohemian composer and violinist Josef Suk (1874-1935) studied under Antonn Dvork, eventually marrying the master composer’s daughter. This early work (1890, 1898) for cello and piano begins with the sombre Ballade, followed by the playful Serenade.
