Modern session legend Martin Miller has teamed up with Ibanez to create his very own signature model – the MM1-TAB. Based on Ibanez’s new AZ design, this top-quality instrument is not only stunning, but also features a set of custom Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups and other high-spec hardware appointments to meet his specific demands.
Construction
In typical Ibanez fashion, the Martin Miller signature model has a bolt-on construction, ensuring optimal note definition and snap. The sculpted neck join makes access to the upper end of the 2-octave fretboard a breeze, all the way up to the 24th fret.
Formed of a Mahogany body, this tonewood ensures a warm and rounded tone, kicking out plenty of low-end and mid-range punch. Adorned with a beautiful flamed Maple top, the MM1-TAB is sure to inspire you pick it up and play for hours on end.
The roasted Maple neck and fretboard is an incredible aspect of this guitar, offering a bright sound and amazing tuning stability. The roasting process removes all moisture from the wood, making it more durable and less susceptible to warping in differing climates or environments. So, you can feel assured that this guitar will rarely need setting up, and if you’re a touring musician like Miller – this is an incredible perk!
Fitted with jumbo frets, this neck lends itself to fast, virtuosic lead playing, with the large frets letting you bend strings and add vibrato almost effortlessly. Made of stainless steel, these frets won’t wear as quickly compared to more traditional materials, ensuring brilliant longevity.
Electronics and Hardware
The MM1-TAB is fitted with a set of Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbuckers, made exclusively for the AZ series. Providing plenty of output, these pickups are incredibly versatile and appropriate for a range of styles, essential for an in-demand session musician like Miller. The dyna-MIX10 pickup switching system allows you to access 10 different configurations, with the mini-switch between the volume and tone controls allowing you to engage full humbucker or single-coil modes.
Timeless chrome hardware keeps this instrument classy and elegant, with the Gotoh T1802 tremolo letting you perform divebombs or gentles warbles for sweet-sounding chords. Paired with a set of Gotoh Magnum-Lock machine heads, this guitar will stay in tune amazingly well, even after plenty of tremolo abuse.

S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple 1pc neck
S-TECH special roasted treatment increases the wood’s stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes. The neck is sealed with an oil finish which helps make it feel similar to a well-played guitar neck.
S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple Fretboard
S-TECH special roasted treatment provides a superior attack and a well-balanced tone and a rich sustain. In order to achieve supreme neck grip comfort, the fretboard edge is finished with a smooth curve.
Super All Access Neck Joint
The Super All Access Neck Joint offers superior playability with its 8mm concave curve from the body top to the spherical surface of the joint area. By maximizing the joint area between the body and the neck, sustain and resonance are increased as well.
Luminescent side dot inlay
The luminescent side dot position marks make it easy for players to see fretboard position marks when performing on dark stages.
Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads w/H.A.P.(Height Adjustable Post)
The AZ comes with GOTOH MAGNUM LOCK machine heads, which have an established reputation for tuning stability. Its H. A. P (Height Adjustable Post). system allows for the adjustment of string posts for the appropriate tension of each string.
Oil-impregnated Bone nut /Stainless Steel Frets
The Oil-impregnated bone nut provides superior tuning stability and warm rich resonance. Stainless steel frets boast excellent corrosion resistance. The wide and tall fret-type offers a quick response, good articulation when playing chords and clear tone when playing single notes.
Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups
Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups feature a moderate output through Alnico-5 magnets to keep the clarity of the fundamental tone when using a distortion sound, and to deliver a clear pick attack. From treble to bass, the overall tonal balance is evenly adjusted., and works well with various effect pedals.
Dyna-MIX 10 switching system w/Alter switch
dyna-MIX 10 offers ten sound variations, and can easily switch from humbucker and single coil modes with the mini switch. The power Tap mode provides a realistic single coil sound despite its two humbucker pickup layout.
Ibanez T1802 synchronized bridge (Made by Gotoh)
T1802 tremolo bridge features machined titanium saddles and a machined steel tremolo block for a quick response, thick lows and rich highs.
The 10.5mm string spacing allows for easy picking across strings. Its snap-in construction makes it easy to load a tremolo arm.
