Introduced in 1955, the Gibson ES-225TD was one of Gibsons earliest thinline hollowbody electrics, bridging the gap between traditional archtops and the semi-hollow designs that would follow. Featuring a full hollow body, dual P-90 pickups, and a Wraparound Trapeze tailpiece, the ES-225TD was designed to offer increased resonance and sustain while remaining lightweight and comfortable to play.
This 1957 Gibson ES-225TD remains in very clean, very cool original condition. There is light finish checking throughout, with a few dings and dents on the back of the neck, including a larger half-diamond-shaped chip in the finish near the 10th fret. These guitars often had a push-in plastic strap button in the butt, so this one was filled, redrilled and replaced with a vintage 50s-style button. A second strap button was also added to the heel. The instrument retains its original P-90 pickups, Kluson Deluxe tuners, and gold Top Hat knobs, and delivers all the warm, dynamic tones that have made the ES-225TD a favorite among jazz, blues, and early rock players.
Ships in a non-original vintage black and gold case and includes a Certificate of Authenticity, Letter of Appraisal, and new Limited Lifetime Warranty.
