Perfect for country, Western swing, and so much more

Introduced in a square-shoulder configuration in 1962, the Country Western was originally created in 1955 as a variation of the popular Gibson Southern Jumbo model. With the square-shouldered body shape of a Hummingbird but in a Natural finish and having an unadorned tortoise pickguard instead of the Hummingbirds casted, graphics-enhanced pickguard, the modern Country Western is far more stylistically versatile than the name might seem to imply. It delivers wonderful tonal quality suitable for a broad range of musical genres and a unique look that has been a resounding hit with players from the moment of its release, all the way up to the present day.

The Country Western Studio continues that tradition of understated style and tonal excellence. It features a Sitka spruce top supported by Gibsons traditional scalloped X-bracing for vintage-inspired tone. The solid mahogany back and sides have multi-ply top and back binding. The Country Western Studio is finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer with a Natural top and Cherry back and sides, which gives it an undeniable vintage vibe and feel, much like that of a long-cherished musical companion, without the wear marks and dings. The mahogany neck has a 24.75 (628.65 mm) scale length, a comfortable Round profile, and a bound Indian rosewood fretboard with a 12 fretboard radius, 20 standard frets, and mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays. The necks compound dovetail neck-to-body joint is fitted using hot hide glue. The rosewood bridge is a traditional belly-up design, and the bridge saddle and nut are bone, while the bridge pins are TUSQ. The tuning machines are smooth-turning, nickel Gotoh tuners with white buttons for solid tuning stability. The Country Western Studio comes with L.R. Baggs VTC electronics pre-installed, featuring volume and tone controls mounted in the soundhole for easy access by the player while remaining all but invisible to the audience. Its ready for the stage and studio from the moment you take it out of the included hardshell case.
