Much of the Hummingbirds appeal lies in its versatility. No matter how you approach this legendary flat-top, it produces rich, deep tones and is equally at home strumming first-position chords as it is taking center stage for picking lead lines. This versatility has made it the choice of musical legends across genres. The new Hummingbird Standard Faded continues the Hummingbirds legacy of excellent tone and outstanding playability. The beautiful, faded Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish gives it an unmistakable vintage vibe, like that of a long-cherished musical companion. Its square-shoulder mahogany body and sweet, select Sitka spruce top are more than capable of nailing down the rhythm in the hands of a rock and roll sideman or accompanying the most nuanced performance under the fingers of todays alternative singer-songwriter. The top is reinforced internally with our traditional scalloped X bracing, which also contributes to the Hummingbirds responsive tone and dynamics. The Hummingbird Standard Faded features a mahogany neck with a comfortable Round profile and is topped with a bound rosewood fretboard, complete with 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays, one of the visual hallmarks of the Hummingbird design. The classic Hummingbird pickguard features the instantly recognizable Hummingbird graphics as well. The neck is fitted to the body with a compound dovetail neck joint for outstanding resonance and sustain. This bird has a TUSQ nut, saddle, and bridge pins. The low-friction TUSQ nut, combined with the Grover Rotomatic tuners, ensures solid tuning stability, allowing you to spend more time playing and less time tuning. The Hummingbird Standard Faded also comes pre-equipped with high-quality, great-sounding L.R. Baggs VTC electronics with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls that are easily accessible for the player while remaining all but invisible to the audience, so its ready for plug-and-play use on stage or in the studio from the moment you take it out of the included hardshell case.
